This is a family favorite and so easy to whip up! My dear friend and mentor, Teresa M., shared this recipe with me. Hope you try it soon.
Yummm... so moist and fluffy.
Farm fresh eggs from our own backyard are a nice addition!
Banana Sour Cream Cake
Ingredients:
1 white cake mix plus any ingredients it calls for
(for Pillsbury add 3 eggs, 1 cup water, 1/3 cup oil)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 mashed banana
Directions:
Follow directions on the back of the cake mix.
After mixing box ingredients together, add sour cream and banana. Mix well.
Bake in pan of choice. Bake as directed on box. Cool completely before frosting it.
Adding in sour cream and banana to cake batter
A helpful tip: warm butter and cream cheese on top of the oven
while pre-heating. This will help when mixing together the frosting!
Frosting:
1 stick butter, softened
1 - 8oz. cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups powder sugar
Beat together with electric mixer until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a little half n' half to help make it easier to mix. Spread on your cake and enjoy!
These kids sure enjoyed it!
Her favorite part was the frosting - go figure!
He liked all of it :o)
Hope you can enjoy this simple recipe with your family and friends!
